Equal treatment for All
Throughout his lifetime of
work with the neediest of our people, Jerry has become
keenly alert to inequities. He voted for domestic partner
legislation and against the “Defense of Marriage Act” (the
attempt to ban gay marriage). He is committed to making the
civil benefits of marriage available to all committed
couples, regardless of their sexual orientation. He supports
immigrants’ access to basic rights and services, such as
health and education, and voted with the majority to enable
immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses, regardless of
document status.
